Sony is yet to announce prices for its first-party PlayStation 4 releases, but has been tipped to maintain a similar cost structure to the PlayStation 3.

It is also yet to be revealed how much third-party offerings for studios such as EA, Ubisoft and Take-Two will cost, with some reports suggesting that development costs could rise during the next generation, forcing a price hike from some firms.

Microsoft has come under fire over the Xbox One in recent weeks after announcing a daily requirement of an internet connection and for its used games policy.

The firm also caused a stir with recent comments it made on Twitter, suggesting that users who are banned from Xbox Live will have all of their Xbox One game licenses revoked.

However, Microsoft has since stated that the remarks were a "mistake" and apologised for the confusion they caused.

              Russell Crowe
Running time: 143 mins

Everyone knows the Superman story - it's one that's seemingly burned into the subconscious from birth. So clearly and definitively rendered was this comic tale in Christopher Reeve's 1978 blockbuster that the last filmmaker to tackle the character (X-Men's Bryan Singer) lifted its iconography wholesale for 2006 misfire Superman Returns.

That film was hamstrung by nostalgia and left audiences nonplussed, so the latest big-screen version is understandably a clean break from the past with Dark Knight duo Christopher Nolan and David S Goyer hatching a story to re-invent DC Comics' flagship hero.

PS 4 Hardware and Price Revealed.

Sony has revealed the PlayStation 4 in full at E3 2013.

Andrew House showed off the next-generation console for delegates during Sony's conference on Monday evening (June 10). It is priced at $399 (£349/€399) - $100 cheaper than the US retail price for Xbox One, and £80 cheaper than the UK RRP.

House said that he feels the PS4 is "sleek and visually impactful wherever it is placed", and asserted his belief that the new console is "worthy of the PlayStation heritage".
