The platform holder has revealed that software on the next-generation machine will be priced at $59.99 (£38.20), making it no more expensive than Xbox 360 releases.
The news was broken by Kotaku and later backed up by a report on Polygon.

Sony is yet to announce prices for its first-party PlayStation 4 releases, but has been tipped to maintain a similar cost structure to the PlayStation 3.
It is also yet to be revealed how much third-party offerings for studios such as EA, Ubisoft and Take-Two will cost, with some reports suggesting that development costs could rise during the next generation, forcing a price hike from some firms.

Microsoft has come under fire over the Xbox One in recent weeks after announcing a daily requirement of an internet connection and for its used games policy.The firm also caused a stir with recent comments it made on Twitter, suggesting that users who are banned from Xbox Live will have all of their Xbox One game licenses revoked.
However, Microsoft has since stated that the remarks were a "mistake" and apologised for the confusion they caused.
