PES 2014 will feature more authentic tackling and one-on-one situations through its new Motion Animation Stability System, with implications for both attackers and defenders.
Player AI has been bolstered with the addition of the Heart system, which sees players' mental attributes affected by their current form, crowd reception and support from their teammates.
New PES 2014 screenshots and details were revealed earlier this month.
PES 2014 will be released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC and PSP later this year, but publisher Konami has ruled out bringing the game to next-generation platforms.
